Barnsley manager Keith Hill has said that he has to go back to the drawing board after the injury suffered to the latest signing Mido. The former Tottenham star was expected to be a major force in helping Barnsley stay afloat in the Championship this season.
However, the plans of the manager Keith Hill has been ruined by the injury suffered by the player has the start of the new season. It has been revealed that the former Tottenham and Middlesbrough striker will face up to 3 months out of the first team action. As a result, it still has admitted that he may have to look for some loan signings in order to keep the club’s form up in this period.
Despite his chequered temperament, Mido is one of the best strikers at the club. However, he appeared to pull his hamstring in the warmup prior to the match against Doncaster recently. The scans have revealed that he has indeed done a hamstring, which will keep him out of the first three months of the season according to the manager. Barnsley finished in the final safety position last season only due to the points deduction for Portsmouth, which is a situation the manager would be keen to avoid this season.
“We’ve got an obvious problem now. We need to get a striker in as soon as possible. We’re going to have to dip into the transfer market. Mido did his hamstring shooting in the warm-up and the scan’s revealed it’s a bad injury, it’s very serious,” said the manager on the official website of the club.
Meanwhile, Keith Hill has also had to deal with the injury to another new player Toni Silva, who will be out of action for the next four weeks according to the manager.
